Is Beatification just a formality before Canonization (Sainthood)?

well i dont know much bout cathlics (im athiest so yeah) but i think, if you ask me, miricals are a bunch of halibolue. im not trying to offend anyone who believes in mirecles and god, im just saying what i think. but if the catholic church really deems it nessesary then i guess its all good and fair
